Homework for Life is getting old
At 10 o'clock at night
But what else do I have thats mine
Pride is the lion that takes your courage
To do something that can't be done
Under all the watchful eyes of shame
And their snide remarks
Like drills in your side
Blood letting of our souls
Now they let us swim in the sea of confusion
"If we are drowning, let them sink too."
They say as they pass the baton
But I don't like the water in my lungs
So to look at me in the mirror
Would feel empty for all
And I'm not really sure why
I get to say anything at all
