The sun also sets

Crack the windows of desperation
Let in the quiet air of oxygen
To fill our hearts and lungs
With the answers to questions

Oh how the night sky creates shadows
With the peaks of our towers
And now the sun forgets about us
Off to brighten other corners of our globe

With or without us it goes on
indifference to what the future holds
cause all we know is the now and before
We let the cycle catch back up to us

Disconnecting cause the world's intense
now where does that really get us?
That's why we cherish the youth
They refuse to cut their umbilical cord to reality

So now I'm old and grey
Because I thought it was better to not feel at all
So the sun rises for those who want it
And the pangs of loneliness creep in

Now I laugh when I'm sad
Cry when I'm happy
